A Few Bush Defective
          Commitments
                   By Jeff Goolsby, Editor

Mr. Bush has been setting a pattern of going out of his way to make promises, then doing the exact opposite, except for efforts to reward his large campaign contributors with multi-million dollar tax cuts, plus oil and war machinery rewards.
Mr. Bush has been complimenting our military personnel, telling them how wonderful they are and that he is going to do great things for them.  Then he cuts $14 billion dollars from his proposed 2004 budget for the Veterans Administration.  That is a case of patting them on the back while cutting their throat.
He promises all Americans that he is going to improve our education and "Leave no child behind".  Then he cuts the budget for education.
Interest on the Federal debt for 2002 was $333 billion dollars, welfare to the rich (your tax dollars), about the same as each National Defense and Social Security.  Bush was and is reducing Federal revenue while increasing spending, interest cost exploding, (Dupe, Borrow, and Spend) yet Bush claims $176.5 billion is all that is needed to pay interest expense in 2004.  Are we stupid or is "Fuzzy Math" Bush stupid, or what is Bush's "Real Agenda"?  Can it be for the super rich super poor Plutocracy agenda like we had for the first 156 years and many countries worldwide have today?
When President Clinton left office, he recommended that Bush set up a "Homeland Defense" agency but Bush ignored the recommendation until the 9/11 terrorist attack.  Then he set up the Homeland Defense agency then has refused to allow enough money for the agency to operate successfully and provide our necessary security.
Word has leaked out that he began planning his invasion of Iraq as soon as he stole the presidency but was going to wait until a major terrorist attack to provide him with an excuse for his invasion.
He said that he was trying to work with the UN and get a final authorization for his invasion but out of the other side of his mouth he kept saying he was going to invade Iraq whether the UN or Security Council approved it or not. (Forked Tongue)
Bush said that Iraq was producing Weapons of Mass Destruction to harm America.  Despite the fact that Saddam Hussein had never harmed anyone in or from the United States.  Despite the fact that there are many countries ruled by dictators.  Most dictators gain their power by killing the previous dictator and enforcers, plus dictators usually kill their citizens who oppose their rule.  Are we now going to start invading all countries ruled by Dictators (even though they do not have the second largest oil reserve)?
Bush started the Iraq invasion despite the fact that the UN inspectors were making good progress and most likely would have dismantled Saddam's capacity for starting a war with any other country.  Despite the fact that no evidence was found tying Saddam to any actual or proposed terrorist attacks against any American.  Despite the fact that todate, no WMD have been found.  Additionally, most people worldwide, believe that Bush will plant some chemical or biological material in Iraq to fool people into believing he was right to start a war with Iraq.
Bush was deafeningly silent about terrorist and Saddam Hussein before the 9/11 terrorist attack despite the constant briefings by the FBI and CIA.  Suddenly, the FBI refused to follow up on signals and warnings about terrorist activities, including Arab flight training without take-off or landing training, by their agents just before the 9/11 terrorist attack.  Suddenly, Bush decides to leave the White House and teach a kindergarten class in Florida on the same day the White House was a scheduled target by the terrorist.  After all, this terrorist attack would give him the excuse he wanted to invade Iraq and become a popular war hero.  Furthermore, if he could keep a war going through 2004, he believed he could actually become an elected president.  (When did teaching a kindergarten class become part of the job description for president of the United States?)
Surprisingly, the people who said that President Clinton had neglected our military to the point that we might not be able to defend ourselves.  Now the same people say our military capability is far superior to it's capability during the first Bush war with Iraq and is the greatest military in the world.
Why didn't Bush place military guards on commercial flights to protect American citizens and property and to eliminate the terrorist fear of flying?  I published an editorial, Terrorist Defense Strategy, and sent a copy to Washington recommending exactly that.  Bush refused and instead spent 14 months hiring and training Air Marshals before any were placed on commercial flights.  This inexcusable delay has virtually bankrupted most airlines and destroyed at least one million direct and indirect jobs.  This caused many billions of dollars lost by airlines, employees, as well as Federal, State, County, and City tax revenue.
The 1998 Republican Congress forced through a bill repealing the FDR law that prohibited monopolistic mergers and acquisitions.  This tragic congressional action spawned the merger and acquisition spree along with the phony public corporation profits and illegal inflated stock prices to steal money from stock buyers for the overpriced and unknowledgeable mergers and acquisitions.  This Republican Congressional travesty has cost many billions of dollars for stock buyers and American citizens who have lost their jobs as a result thereof as well as many billions of tax dollars for all government entities.
Some people are blaming the Internet over-expectation losses for our economic problems but the Internet losses are only a very small portion of our economic problems.  Clearly, we elect many people to lawmaker offices who do not understand "Real World Economics".  This being said, these lawmakers are easily duped even when they have the best of intentions, thus they condone or endorse these con-artist initiatives.
The amazing thing about all of this deliberate unnecessary economic disaster for millions of Americans is that most of the people who have been devastated are complimenting and praising the very people who caused their losses.  The reason is three-fold.  Public apathy (Little Ol Me can't do anything), lack of economic educational interest, and failure by most people to read and analyze details beyond biased news reporting and con-artist propaganda.  Additionally, we are awash in con-artist propaganda, radio talk shows, etc., advocating the very political initiatives deliberately creating all of our economic problems.  Many people mistakenly vote for politicians based on the best sounding promises without bothering to examine and analyze their history, integrity, qualifications, or basic agenda.
