It is common belief in religious groups that God helps and punishes people on Earth in our life on Earth. With that belief in mind, why has God destroyed so much property and killed so many people in the United States of America with our recent storms and tornadoes? These recent 2003 tornadoes have apparently been the worst in recorded history.
The property damage has been somewhat comparable to the property damage Mr. Bush has caused in Iraq. And, these severe storms and tornadoes have happened immediately after Bush's invasion of Iraq. Does it not appear that God may be punishing the American people for allowing Bush to steal the presidency and wreak such a huge damage on a sovereign country when instead, our safety could have been accomplished successfully with UN inspections without the death and destruction? Furthermore, much of Bush's excuse for invading Iraq was misrepresentations, including magazine articles written prior to the first Iraq war. Surely, God does not like Dictators because they kill lots of people to become the ruler of a country. Furthermore, for the objective of continuing as Dictators they kill lots of people who they believe are trying to overthrow their dictatorship. Since there are numerous dictators in many countries, why hasn't Bush invaded and devastated these other countries? There are several logical reasons. They do not have the second largest oil reserve to reward his oil cronies. Iraq had many expensive properties that could be destroyed then awarded to his and Cheney's construction cronies for huge reconstruction profits. The war, destruction, reconstruction and nation building could approach one trillion American taxpayer dollars to satisfy Bush's obsession to kill Saddam Hussein. Bush wants the war on terror to last at least as long as the next presidential election with the belief, his and Karl Rove's, that he can be classed as a war hero and re-elected as a result thereof. Bush believes that his tax cut for the rich will produce enough crumbs for workers (Republican "Trickle Down" theory) that he can overcome his deliberate high unemployment. This high unemployment and airline financial disaster was caused mostly by Bush's refusal to place military armed guards on commercial airline flights to prevent flight fear and protect American lives and property. He believes that his reward to the rich will get the economy back in good shape. Bush bankrupted an oil company by his lack of understanding of economics and business management. All of this despite the fact that he has highly praised the military and promised them great rewards while cutting the Veterans Administration 2004 budget $14 billion dollars. The troops do not know that he has doublecrossed them, until they become veterans. Clearly, the troops do not know that he joined the Texas Air National Guard to avoid the Vietnam War draft and get free flight training. And, that he was AWOL for more than a year. He doesn't mind getting some of our troops killed but he had to make sure that he did not risk his life fighting for our country. His father was not a coward, he fought for our country in WWII. It is ironic that many religious leaders support Bush and the Republican party despite his huge number of misrepresentations and con artistry, his felony insider trading violation, his $13 million dollar bribe while Governor of Texas, his obsession to kill Saddam Hussein including two assassination orders, etc. Many preachers appear to encourage hypocrisy by preaching every Sunday that it does not matter what you have done wrong, if you ask God's forgiveness, he will forgive you and your slate is clean. Every Sunday thereafter, they hear the same thing then they become a hypocrite with the belief that it is OK to commit all wrongs because God will forgive them. This has to be part of the reason that Bush is such a "Forked Tongue" political hypocrite. Copyright © 2003, by Jeff Goolsby, Rex, Georgia, All Rights Reserved
