The Bush Social Security disaster Proposal
                   Editorial by Jeff Goolsby, Editor

President Bush wants to allow Social Security taxpayers to keep 25% of their Social Security tax money and invest it in the stock market or bonds.  There are considerable flaws in his thinking.  His proposal would devastate the already flawed Social Security system.
But, since according to his own admission, he was a heavy alcohol drinker, tobacco chewer, and napped his way through school and college, and obviously became a skilled cheater to receive passing grades, it is understandable that his thinking is very fuzzy.  You may recall that during the presidential campaign Bush referred to anything with numbers as "Fuzzy Math".
If many, if not most, individual Social Security taxpayers investments crash, they will have lost 25% of their current poverty level Social Security retirement income.  Furthermore, most people plan to start saving and investing next month but next month never arrives.  Most of the current Federally allowed 401K savings deductions have crashed.  These investment programs are not proving to be the investment bonanza as predicted and most people expected.
If you talk to your friends and acquaintances who have invested in the stock market, you will find that most people who invest in the stock market lose money instead of making money.  Only a few people make money in the stock market and some of the ones who make money do so through insider information which is illegal.
As one example of how a few people make money in the stock, according to the news media, William Fickling, Jr. made $100,000,000 in two years while he was president of the Atlanta Federal Reserve Bank.  He also served on the Federal Reserve committee that sets interest rates and he knew in advance when interest rates were going up or down which also meant that he knew when the stock market was going up or down. To the best of my knowledge, that was extremely illegal.  But, that was done during the Reagan Administration and nothing was done about his activity.
Something needs to be done to improve the Social Security retirement program.  With today's rules, the most Social Security retirement income anyone can receive in a year, is below poverty level, regardless of how much the taxpayer pays into Social Security.  With today's dollar devaluation/inflation, it is extremely difficult to exist on today's poverty level Social Security retirement income.
You probably know someone or have a relative who is receiving less than $300 per month Social Security retirement income.  This is utterly ridiculous when if the money paid into Social Security were being handled correctly, the average income person today could retire a millionaire instead of retiring in poverty.
Congress can and should revise the Social Security program so that everyone who has worked hard and made a reasonable effort can retire wealthy and be able to enjoy their golden years instead of struggling to survive.
This revision can be done and must be done instead of the proposed partial investment disaster proposal by President Bush, which would severely worsen the situation instead of improving it.
I have written a book entitled:  How To RETIRE RICH, It Is Easier Than You Think. The first part of the book details political problems that need to be corrected to make sure that my proposed revision stays protected.  Most people do not realize the severity of the extremely small amount of retirement income they will receive from Social Security when they retire, until they retire, then it is too late.  Most people notice the huge gap in their income on their paycheck but do not think beyond that and do not realize that their retirement income is going to be much smaller that the gap they see in their paycheck.
This book can be printed right from your internet browser. It is on the www.rojego.com website  You can read the first 8 pages free by ordering a free report about how to retire rich information
If enough people read my book and follow its recommendations, retirement income will be revolutionized and everyone will retire much richer and most will retire very rich.  You need to read my book.  The current Social security system is better than nothing but it is still terrible and the Bush proposal would make it worse.  If the public does not demand my Social Security revision proposal, Bush's proposal, or a close similarity, will become law and in that event millions of people will be much worse off than today's system.
